Deborah M. Weir, CPA, LLC, a Myrtle Beach CPA firm, is a full-service accounting, tax planning, tax preparation and business advisory firm. We partner with you to identify the goals and objectives you have for your business and work with you to achieve those goals.

Recognizing that each client has unique goals, we tailor our services to meet your specific needs. We provide accounting, tax, and business advisory services to individuals and small to mid-size companies.

With a practice employing a strong emphasis of on-site accounting assistance and problem resolution, Deborah has been providing accounting, tax, business consulting, and software training services for over 15 years. She works with small and medium sized companies helping them grow their businesses, minimize their tax obligations, and retain the benefits of their hard work. As she explains:

Through on-going education, with special attention to tax savings, Deborah keeps abreast of the latest changes in tax codes, typically resulting in significant savings of tax dollars. One such area is through selection of the right business structure that will provide the most favorable tax treatment (S-Corporation, C-Corporation, Partnership, LLC, etc.).

Deborah is licensed as a certified public accountant by the South Carolina Board of Accountancy and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, with an emphasis in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of CPAs, as well as the Grand Strand Chapter.

Kathy has over 25 years of experience in both governmental and public accounting/auditing. Prior to South Carolina, she worked for ten years as an auditor for the Commonwealth of Virginia – Auditor of Public Accounts division. Kathy provides accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, and tax preparation services; concentrating primarily in non-profit and CIRA entities. Kathy graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and is a Certified Internal Systems Auditor.

Katherine is a professional with over 25 years of experience in accounting and property management. Katherine attended Coastal Carolina University and studied accounting and business management. She has extensive knowledge in payroll processing and reporting, as well as monthly bookkeeping services. Katherine also provides administrative support in the auditing and tax areas within the firm.

Jim Corbett is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant with over twenty-five years of accounting, auditing and tax preparation experience. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of CPA’s. Jim provides individual, corporate, and partnership tax preparation services, as well as attest and non-attest services; specializing in audits of CIRA’s, non-profit organizations and commercial entities.

Alex Veary holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, as well as a Masters Degree in Accounting from Coastal Carolina University and expects to take the CPA exam in 2017. She is a staff accountant and has been providing a combination of tax, audit, and accounting services for over two years. Alex previously interned at PricewaterhouseCoopers in New York, which provided her valuable knowledge to be used in our practice. Alex is a member of the South Carolina Association of CPAs, Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society, and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.

Brittany Newman is a recent honors graduate from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. She provides a combination of tax, audit, and accounting services for the firm, as well as administrative support. Brittany is a member of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. She previously interned as the Assistant to the Senior Staff Accountant at Coastal Carolina University’s Controller’s Office, which prepared her for role as a staff accountant.
